The old station sign lies ignominiously on its side and

badly broken ready for removal from the worksite where the new station is being constructed at Northampton. It would have been nice to have saved the sign and preserve it. Maybe not now, but in many years to come, this style of sign may well have the same collection value as enamels or even totems from the early British Railways days do now!
