A regular freight flow on the Midland Mainline is the 6F93 empty cement wagons from St. Pancras Churchyard sidings to Ketton cement works just west of Stamford. Unfortunately, this train has to go the extra distance via Leicester and Syston Junction rather than direct via Cobry and Manton Junction as there is no connecting spur from that line to access the eastbound line. 66011 leads the train as it trundles along the down fast line at Burton Latimer between Kettering and Wellingborough. This view is set to change in the coming few years as the second slow or relief line is to be reinstalled and then the line is to be electrified with initial preparations now underway in certain places.
