A photograph that shows the station constructed during 1857 to the designs of C H Driver. The design is classic Midland Railway with ridge-and-furrow canopies, which span two flat-roofed, single-storey weather-boarded buildings on platforms two and three. These canopies are slightly later added during expansion between 1877 and 1879. The station is Grade II listed by Historic England who are going to have to be on top of their game if the plans to electrify the line come to fruition. 222022 'Invest In Nottingham' heads south working the 1B31 10.05 Nottingham to St. Pancras service.
