GWR roundel, Hilton Hotel, from Praed Street, Paddington station
The GWR roundel as seen here on the front of
the former Great Western Hotel (now the Hilton London Paddington) is the later type dating from the period 1934 to 1942. It is colloquially referred to as the 'shirtbutton' monogram and was used throughout the company from buildings such as this to locomotives and letter headings.
