An iconic scene that is, unfortunately, set to change in the coming few months as the electrification of the GWML continues. Whilst the wiring has reached the northern side of the station the south side is totally unobscured and largely as it has been since opening in in 1854. In this view from the passenger footbridge, HSTs dominate the vista as they have done for nearly forty years now. Sitting and looking a little overwhelmed by everything is a Turbo Class 165 that is about to depart for Oxford as the 13.50 1D39 service.
