Former Virgin Thunderbird 57302 now named 'Chad Varah' and operated by DRS passes through Roade cutting having left Rugby on an unidentified move to Wembley. The initial batch of twelve Class 57s was constructed in 2002/03 with another four a short while later in order to tow the Pendolinos along the North Wales coast to and from Crewe. Dubbed as Thunderbirds they are still stabled up and down the WCML at strategic locations but I can't quite help thinking that the DRS livery is not quite as dramatic as the initial Virgin livery!
