The end of the line! The small station building at Clayton West was at the end of the short branch that struggled on carrying very few passengers until closure by BR in January 1983. After closure, it took until 1986 for the tracks and infrastructure to be removed leaving just the station and platform. Happily, rail transport has returned to the entire length of the branch as it is now home to the Kirklees Light Railway, see....
