Bog Hall signal box (NER, date not known)
Bog Hall signal box (NER, date not known)
The absolutely superb Bog Hall signal box located a short distance from Whitby station that had its own box. In fact, the block section between the two boxes would be no more than a few hundred yards. The box is a classic NER design but I have no date relating to its construction unless anybody can firm this up. Also, I have no idea when it was closed but I have seen an image of it still in use, if switched out, in 1983. Notice the signalman's 1970/71 Triumph 1500 FWD parked behind the box and an even rarer beast parked on Windsor Terrace in the form of a Daf 33 variomatic.
