66305, 13.09 DIRFT-Ripple Lane (4L48, 10L), Roade Hill 66305 is not one of my most photographed DRS Class 66s and on this day it was making a very strange noise as it toiled past me between Roade and Ashton leading the daily 4L48 Daventry to Purfleet that, as is usual on a Sunday, terminates at Ripple Lane. As the locomotive passed me the driver gave me a cheery wave from the open cab window so he was obviously not too concerned about the odd-sounding engine and it arrived just ten minutes late - so it must be me!
