I am not absolutely sure how I managed to get to this spot at Exeter Riverside as by all accounts I should be in somebody's back garden! Either way, it's an unusual spot that sees 50045 'Achilles' approaching Exeter leading a summer Saturday favourite working, the 1V34 Kensington Olympia to St. Austell Motorail service. Whilst the usual rake of Mk.I stock is behind the locomotive, unfortunately, the car flats are out of view at the back of the train. I always liked including these in photographs as the cars added some extra period interest.
