I would not normally publish a repeat image of a train simply arriving at a station but this particular one is a study of a time that many of us enthusiasts grew up with but one that is not seen today. 55016 'Gordon Highlander' arrives at York leading the 14.05 from King's Cross observed by a raft of enthusiasts many of whom have a note pad and pen in hand eagerly noting the Deltic's arrival. A close study of the photograph also reveals some period attire such as the flares and a superb example of the very popular (at the time) lumberjack jacket! In addition, there is also the accoutrements required for a day's spotting, for example, binoculars, sports bags and a rucksack!
