This portrait view at Roade shows one of the village's two water towers silhouetted against the winter sky. The tower was constructed to provide header water pressure for the former Pianofirte factory that has just been demolished to the left in this photograph. The tower is now out of use awaiting a decision on its future. In the foreground, an unidentified Class 390 Pendolino heads north working the 11.36 Euston to Stafford.
