This was a little unexpected! I was waiting for the 12.30 Crewe Basford Hall to Wembley 4A96 Freightliner half expecting it to be Class 86 hauled as is often the case but when this came into view I was delighted! I am not sure if two of the four locomotives made up of 86628, 86639, 86614 and 86637 had failed or if this was some sort of positioning move - advice anybody? Only the first two were taking power and it was running early after leaving Basford Hall on time. On a hot and humid afternoon, the impressive train is seen heading south with the village of Roade in the background including my house!
