Following the tragic death of a trackside worker employed by

Amco Giffen (working for Network Rail) on 08.04.20 this worksite just south of Roade on the WCML has remained shut. This hi-viz clad team were actually white-collar staff and seemed to be inspecting and making a lot of notes on clipboards in addition to taking many photographs. I am sure that once the various agencies have done all their work and that the site is passed then the operation to stabilise the embankments can continue. However, in all of this, one must not forget that a man lost his life at this site and is survived by a family including children. Our thoughts must go out to them at this very difficult time.
