With a lot of heat haze and exhaust Class ME 1523 gets away from Roskilde station leading the 16.11 Copenhagen Central to Nykøbing Falster service. The ME was involved in a major accident at Haslev in April 1994 where it was hit by a double-headed freight hauled by MZ 1442 and 1439. Major damage was caused to all three locomotives that took two years to repair. 1523 also holds the accolade as being the first member of the class to emerge from the works in DSB's new blue livery in March 2002, the same design that it still wears today.
