The impressive concourse of Copenhagen Central station sits above the

tracks at street level with access to the platforms in the right of this image down a series of escalators and steps. The station dates from 1911 being the work of the famed Danish architect Heinrich Wenck. As with many large stations, capacity is an issue and there are ambitious plans to expand the station by building more terminal platforms above the present ones entering straight into the concourse at this level.
