This is the best view that I could get of Larbert North signal box from the station platform end as Network Rail have built a huge training centre right opposite precluding photographic access. The box is a Caledonian structure dating from 1892 but has undergone various 'improvement' in recent years. The arrival of the electrification masts is imminent along with the resignalling of the line so by 2017 the box will probably be closed. However, with direct access from Muirhall Road behind the box, it would make an ideal café for the people of Larbert and a perfect viewing spot for enthusiasts whilst they enjoy a coffee and piece of cake!
