The former station building at Blackford looks a little forlorn. It was opened in 1848 closing in 1956. The station yard out of sight to the left of the photograph is going to be redeveloped over the coming years with sidings reinstated in order to rail serve the adjacent Highland Spring bottling plant. As usual, progress towards this is slow going but if it means more freight comes off the ridiculously busy roads then it is worth waiting for!
