Frontage, Stonehaven station The grand frontage of Stonehaven station is seen complete with its original canopy. It was built 1849 in an Italianate style by the Aberdeen Railway Company. In the late nineteenth century, it was extended with the addition of the single-storey wing to the right in this image in a similar style. The station was comprehensively restored by Railtrack in 2000. It is a Grade B listed structure according to Historic Environment Scotland and in my opinion, this status is thoroughly deserved.
