Up until about 2014 the front of this fine former

station was plagued and choked by buses and taxis and there was nowhere for pedestrians to promenade. Following the closure of the station and the opening of a transport interchange, a very short distance away, the area has undergone a massive improvement. With the sun having set, the moon shines above the former Upper Silesian Railway station that was opened in 1847. With its closure, it has been extensively refurbished and is now a multiple-use structure with such things as a museum to attract visitors rather than travellers!
