Now, with the HS2 work site having taken over vast swathes of former industrial land in the foreground, we could not get anywhere near it! Whilst the 1894 Midland box looks to be in good condition it has lost quite a lot of its original character having had a rather crude extension added but at least it is in a style that matches the rest of the box ignoring the galvanised steel base. In 1979, the former Acton Lane power station provided the backdrop, now the box is dwarfed by a huge warehouse on the appropriately named Powergate Business Park.
