Liverpool Lime Street signal box (LMS, 1948) Liverpool Lime Street signal box was opened by British Railways on 25th January 1948. It was built to the LMS Type 13 design and was fitted with a ninety five lever Westinghouse ‘L’ frame and is currently the last miniature lever frame operated by Network Rail. It is equipped with a Westinghouse Miniature Control Desk N-X panel. It is scheduled for closure this year (2015) but the upgrading works that will precipitate its demise are running late so it will probably operate for a while longer yet.
