At 16.32 during the last week of January every minute meant it was getting significantly darker! I was thwarted a little by a delayed London Northwestern service that control let out in front of the NMT at Northampton. This meant that the light in the cutting was absolutely dire so I had to ramp the camera's ISO up to 20000. I had to do a fair amount of Photoshop processing in order to get a half-decent image of the New Measurement Train working its weekly 1Q28 14.24 Derby RTC return working that heads to Euston then back again to Derby via Crewe. It is interesting that this is one of the few trains that traverse the short section of line from Wichnor Junction to Lichfield Trent Valley low level utilising the short single track chord from Lichfield Trent Valley Junction. The NMT is being worked by 43013 'The Railway Observer' and 43014 'Mark Carne CBE' two power cars that have been a pair since their introduction in 1976 as set 253007 that I photographed back in 1980, see.....
