90029, outward leg of the The Cumbrian Mountain Express, 07.10 London Euston-Carnforth (1Z86), Ashton Road bridge
I think that the new DB all over red livery
and grey sole bar suits the Class 90s very well especially when seen in superb summer sun such as this just south of Roade. 90029 leads the Railway Touring Company's Cumbrian Moutain Express charter from Euston to Carnforth where Royal Scot 46115 took over for the run over Shap to Carlisle and then south over the S & C. On the return run 90029 was failed at Crewe following a broken windscreen caused by flying ballast with 90035 taking over for the run back to Euston.
