Taking a photograph or, for that matter, taking a cup of coffee on-board one of The Island Line services is a challenge. They travel a maximum of forty-five miles an hour but it feels so much quicker due to the crazy ride! The trains buck around and clatter on the bull head rail that has seen better days. We were not sure if it was more the condition of the track or the eighty year old units that created this disconcerting ride. It will be extremely interesting when the Vivarail Class 484s arrive very soon if the ride will improve or if the track will need replacement too? Andy and Mike appreciate the soft seats on 483009 as it rattles its way between Ryde and Brading.
