Brading signal box (IoW, 1882) The superb former Isle of Wight Railway signal box at Brading is seen complete with its frame intact. It is a grade II listed structure that has undergone much improvement since it was listed in 1986, closed in 1988 and then re-assessed by Historic England in 2002. It is now a museum and part of the Brading station visitor centre that was closed on the day of our visit, which was Friday 3rd January! With his poor eyesight, Andy thought that the box was manned stating that there was a signalman standing by the levers until I pointed out that it was in fact an authentic-looking dummy!
