No longer directly in front of any trackwork sits the

former Portsmouth Harbour signal box. It was built by the Southern Railway to their Type 13 design and was opened on 01.06.46. With its thoroughly modern Westinghouse Brake and Saxby Signal Co. Ltd. Style 'L' power lever frame installed it replaced two signal boxes one of which was destroyed by German wartime bombing.
