Following the suspension of the damaging industrial dispute between the

unions and management of South Western Railway, things have not got back to normal! There were a number of these somewhat hurriedly written notices placed around Pokesdown station. During our quick visit there were some security operatives around the station. Andy spoke briefly with them and they said that they were patrolling local stations due to an increase in suicide incidents. They also stated that Pokesdown was going to be closed and locked in between trains so as to secure the station and prevent suicide bids.
