Our delightfull drive home from Wakefield in the shape of a 1997 Ford Fiesta is seen in full view here on Forge Lane at Horbury Junction! The redundant, but still mainline connected, track leads into the former Horbury railway works (Charles Roberts and Co Ltd railway wagon works) that ceased its railway operations in 2005 now being the home to a number of industrial units. Whilst none of these new occupiers of the site are involved any railway activity (that I'm aware of) the huge network of the track is still in place. A study of the site from Google Earth reveals this network and to the far southern end of the site what appears to be the remains of the traversers used to move larger coaches and vehicles from different parts of the site.
