At the end of Forge Lane that leads from the

village of Horbury is a country park centred around some lakes that were formally quarries. Taken standing under the bridge that carries the Wakefield to Barnsley line south from Horbury Junction this view shows Forge Lane and the now disused crossing gates. These gates afforded access to the former extensive Charles Roberts and Co Ltd wagon works.
