Despite the ghastly upvc treatment afforded to Horbury Junction signal box its LNWR lineage cannot be disguised even if the finials having been crudely cut from the gable ends! The box was built in 1927 to their 5+ design and contained a sixty five-lever frame, but with no semaphores now in use, most of the levers will be painted white and oou. Despite its relatively isolated and pleasant looking location, this image is deceiving, it is right next to the very busy M1 motorway located below a bridge between junctions thirty-nine and forty.
