Our train back to Peterborough arrives at Newcastle station. The 13.30 Edinburgh to King's Cross hst was running through to London, unlike electric services that were terminating at York due to engineering works between Colton Junction and Doncaster. The HST was able to travel under diesel power on the unelectrified track from Colton Junction to Leeds and then back to the ECML at Doncaster. The set is being led by power car 43295 that was originally numbered 43095 that has always been an Eastern Region power car released as part of set 254020.
