No guesses needed as to where this photograph is taken! 43319 is seen at Newcastle station waiting to leave at the rear of the 1S16 12.00 King's Cross to Inverness. The previous operator of services on the ECML, the Department for Transport under the guise of East Coast ceased its operations some weeks ago but Virgin has only made limited progress rebranding the trains. This HST still wears the National Express East Coast (2007-2009) livery as the state-owned and run East Coast operator merely re-branded their stock rather than embarking on a costly re-paint.
