As usual, I kept costs under control for our single

trip to Knaresborough by using split ticketting. I used a new website, as recommended by Rail's Barry Doe, www.traintickets.com and found it quick and easy to use. As usual, on a journey such as this, the saving was substantial, even more so for Mike as he was able to use his railcard. However, one thing that it cannot do is maintain seat reservations when the ticket splits en route often necessitating a change of seats as we had to do on the Voyager when we got to Chesterfield.
