The Cumbrian Coast Express, running with the usual 1Z86 headcode is seen passing between Roade and Ashton in Northamptonshire. Unusually, it is being headed by 47237 in its drab WCR livery with 47580 'County of Essex' behind resplendent in its reproduction BR blue. The two class 47s are substituting for the more usual 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' that was unavailable. Further problems were encountered on the day as the train did not take the Cumbrian coast route as planned but travelled via Shap to Carlise.
