166210 and 166122 speed through Severn Tunnel Junction station having

just emerged from the depths of the tunnel of the same name, working the 11.23 Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff Central train. This view is from the new and absolutely monstrous footbridge at the station that, despite its size, offers very few views of the lines around the station due to its high parapets and the electrification masts. Behind the tall tree above the train was the location of the Severn Tunnel Junction steam shed (86E) and the huge water tower that stood for many years after the shed closed in 1965.
