A drab pair if WCR locomotives and stock, a dark winter's morning and poor positioning of the train have conspired to help create what is possibly one of the worst photographs that I have taken in recent years! So, for that reason, I am proudly presenting it! 47237 and 47744 lead the outward leg of The Cumbrian Mountain Express that had left London about an hour earlier. The 47s led the train to Carnforth where 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' took over for the trip over Shap to Carlisle. The dismal scene is taken at Blisworth on the Weedon loop of the southern WCML; let's not dwell any further on this image!
