As usual, 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' looks absolutely superb, particularly in the early autumn sunshine. It is seen here on the WCML between Roade and Ashton working the outward Cumbrian Mountain Express from Euston to Carlisle with steam taking over at Carnforth. I have observed and photographed this train many times and am always somewhat surprised at the lack of passengers on this leg of the trip. I wonder where most get on as it heads northwards?
