It is seen here on the WCML between Roade and Ashton working the outward Cumbrian Mountain Express from Euston to Carlisle with steam taking over at Carnforth. I have observed and photographed this train many times and am always somewhat surprised at the lack of passengers on this leg of the trip. I wonder where most get on as it heads northwards?
