I had not prepared myself for the unexpected passing of the 10.10 Tilbury to Basford Hall multimodal working and was thus not in the position to capture the double-headed class 86s properly at Wilson's Crossing north of Northampton. Thus, the electrification masts have interfered with the image with one growing out of the roof of 86632 and the other blocking the rear cab of 86612! In addition, I have not managed to get the rear of the long train in the shot. However, the use of these veteran AC electrics on freight is to be recorded as often as possible as I suspect that it will not continue for a lot longer as availability of spares parts and maintenance of these fifty year old locomotives become more problematic.
