33107 was one of nineteen members of a sub-class fitted with jumper cables and specially adapted for push-pull operation. These 33s were used on the yet to be electrified Bournemouth to Weymouth line operating in a push-pull fashion in association with the 4TC slam-door stock. Nothing quite like that is seen here at Southampton as the 33 takes the 11.35 Poole to Newcastle away from the station. 33107 would probably lead the train as far as Reading where a class 47 would be more than likely to take over the train. Notice the immaculate and recently overhauled Mk. IIA TSOs marshalled behind the locomotive.
