47614, outward leg of the Royal Windsor Statesman, 06.23 Preston-Windsor & Eton Riverside (1Z85), Victoria bridge
Resplendent in its BR blue paint, 47614 leads the outward leg of the Royal Windsor railtour past Victoria bridge between Northampton and Milton Keynes. The railtour started out from Preston at 06.23 and ran to Windsor and Eton Riverside as 1Z85. The stock is a smart set of Mk. II coaches with the odd Mk. I printed in a non-authentic version of chocolate and cream with white roofs. This particular class 47, as D1733, was chosen by British Railways (soon to become BR) to wear the experimental XP64 turquoise-blue livery appearing from Derby works on 16th April 1964. This livery then morphed into the one we all know and the one it seen wearing here with the addition of a small Scottie dog.
