Whilst waiting for our train back to Milton Keynes, the green signal cleared on the southbound line through Kensington Olympia and the familiar sight of 37884 'Cepheus' appeared in the distance. The Rail Operations Group class 37 was towing Southern's 455816 back from Wolverton works to Stewert's Lane depot with it having had scheduled repairs undertaken. This is a regular Saturday morning working with another unit heading north in the afternoon to have work undertaken the over the following week. The class 37s are ideal for such moves given their flexibility and light axle loadings, not bad when one remembers that they are over fifty years old!
