Tuxford West Junction signal box (GC, after 1907) The delightful Tuxford West Junction signal box is seen under cloudy skies, and after such a promising start to the day! With the signalman's vintage bike leaning outside the Great Central 1907 box that is located on the line that ran between Lincoln and Clipstone Junction. At the time this picture was taken this line crossed the ECML a short distance to the right with a spur joining to the ECML. In its latter years, the line remained as a freight only route to the former High Marnham power station until its closure in 2003. Despite this, the line is still in use as the Network Rail's High Marnham test track. However, this signal box has long been demolished with the whole test track unsignalled from its start at Thoresby Colliery Junction. Keywords: Tuxford West Junction signal box
