A very smart looking 91130 'Lord Mayor of Newcastle' leads the 13.33 King's Cross to Leeds 1D16 service past Barnby Lane level crossing in the village of Claypole. When these very capable class 91s are withdrawn from this route by the early spring of next year, there will be an almost complete dearth of locomotive-hauled trains on the UK network as the class 90s will also be on the way out from the Great Eastern mainline. Ironic that TransPennine Express are actually introducing a few class 68 services with the new CAF built Mk. V stock; it's strange how things come around!
