D1924 & 47614, the outward leg of The Canterbury & White Cliffs Statesman, 06.36 Shrewsbury-Canterbury West (1Z85), Roade cutting
I was fully expecting that The Canterbury and White Cliffs
Statesman railtour was going to be top and tailed so to see it double headed was a treat! D1924 (formally DRS 47810) is paired with 47614 working the railtour that started out from Shrewsbury at 06.36 and was heading for Canterbury West and is seen passing through Roade Cutting. This gave the passengers only a couple of hours to explore the delightful Kent city before returning. I observed the return working from the bedroom window of home at about 21.00!
