66619, 10.00 Sharnbrook Junction-Toton North yard, between Bedford & Sharnbrook Junction As our train was coming into Bedford station, the tail end of an engineering train was seen on the down slow line heading north. It took us some time to catch it up but we did between Bedford and Sharnbrook Junction and I was pleased to see 66619 'Derek W. Johnson MBE' leading the train. Taken through the window of the Merdian that we were travelling on and not a great picture but this was a 'photographic cop' so it made the cut! The 66 was working the massively delayed 10.00 Sharnbrook Junction to Toton North yard engineering train that, at first, headed south to Bedford where the 66 ran round to take the train back north again.
