Carlton signal box (BR, 1976) Carlton signal box is a BR structure dating from 1976 and is not a particularly attractive building! It is actually designated as a crossing box linked to Doncaster PSB. In the event of a systems failure it can take full control of the local interlocking over this section of line. It is is also used for staff training due to the fact that it can work independently if so needed.
