Using my Helios 135mm telephoto lens at Bradford-on-Avon has compressed

the view looking along the Avon Valley towards Bath. Locally based at Bristol Bath Road, 31254 was a regularly spotted member of the class but not for much longer as it was withdrawn seven months after this picture was taken. It is seen hauling a parcels working in the Westbury direction, a train made up of a mixture of parcels vans including an LMS and Southern variant. Notice the relatively empty station car park, a scene very unlikely today. The Bedford TK lorry belonging to Southern Electric and the white Austin Maxi will, like the class 31, will be long-gone!
