To the left, 90006 will soon leave with the 13.30 to Norwich. Next to it, 90005 'Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson' will leave a little later with the 14.00 service. Time is about to be called on these 1980s locomotives and the slam-door stock on this route with the imminent introduction of the class 745 Stadler FLIRT EMUs. Whilst the class 90s will probably find other work, the stock will go to the scrap man. Notice in the background, next to the passenger information screens, the ex NSE 'click clack' clock still keeping good time. This particular example, which could be up to thirty-six years old, still retains its distinctive NSE red, blue and grey slash at the bottom of the case. There are fewer and fewer of these clocks still in use now, there is, in fact, a website dedicated to them!
