A familiar site at King's Cross station but one that is set to change within a month as the Azumas are scheduled to be introduced. To the left, 91129 waits at the head of the 16.00 to Edinburgh. In the centre is 91106 that will lead the 16.05 to Leeds whilst 43302 will work the 15.30 to Edinburgh. The future of all these train sets and their locomotives is unclear as the new order takes over. It is looking likely that at least some of the Mk. IVs and their class 91s will end up on the WCML being used by the open access operator Great North Western Railway.
